I suppose I could use CdC, but I greatly prefer the overall look and feel and UI of Stellarium, which I also have on my phone. I looked and some people said that Ctrl-3 will sync the scope and mount in Stellarium, but that has not worked for me. There's an explicit 'sync telescope' command in CdC which works. I can't find a way to sync the mount and the software! This is weird, because I loaded Cartes du Ciel, and it is very straightforward to sync up in CDC. If I tell Stellarium to slew to Deneb, it slews but ends up a similar distance off. I'll usually be on Altair after the 2-star align, but Stellarium thinks I'm a few degrees off. So what's the problem? The problem is that where Stellarium thinks the mount is pointed does not correspond to where the mount is actually pointed. Telescope - Nexstar 8 with f/6.3 focal reducerĬamera - Canon T7, no mods, BYEOS for capture The good news: I loaded ASCOM and got it to run, loaded EQMOD and got it to run, loaded Stellarium and got it to run, recognize the mount and move the mount around! Trying to control it using Stellarium running on an HP laptop, connecting to the mount via a USB cable. It seems so basic that I must be overlooking something obvious. I'm trying to get my telescope controlled by Stellarium, and having a specific problem. Hi Folks, I hope this is the right forum.
